Brian Darwas, native to The Bronx, New York, and member of The Rumblers Car Club is a well respected film maker within the hot rodding community and will be kicking off a summer movie tour for his newest documentary, This is Long Beach. His portfolio of films includes A Sweet Sickness, The Devil at your Feet, and The Road to Bonneville.
In his latest documentary, Darwas shadows three generations of one of America’s oldest car clubs, The Long Beach Cavaliers from Long Beach, California. The documentary’s progression is paralleled by footage of the present day club members chopping an old ’47 Ford in the spirit of Jesse Lopez’s famous ’41 Ford Coupe. The project took place and was shot at Brad Masterson’s Kustom’s car shop in Lynwood, California.
Friday, August 2nd, at 11:00 p.m. will be the feature’s world premier held in Long Beach at California’s historic Art Theatre off of 4th Street. Darwas will be present during the premier for some Q&A. You can also count on seeing a few of the Long Beach Cavaliers in attendance as well. So, if you’re in the area and want to catch a flick about cars while getting to look at some up close this is the place to be Friday night.
The complete tour schedule has not yet been fully booked but there are a few dates up and it seems like Darwas will indeed be inching his way from coast to coast.
