Chrysler’s Super Bowl spot with Eminem has created a buzz like few ads this past Sunday. And, having lived in Detroit for a few years and having worked as a copywriter in advertising, I can tell you that the spot showed the rest of America that Detroit’s got swagger. The fact that the folks at Fiat had the balls to give the green light for Eminem showed the rest of America that Detroit’s got moxie.

But let’s not allow Chrysler to steal the spotlight – it’s only fair to show you the new Dodge spot.

If your memory is as shot as mine, you can’t remember the last time it snowed so much in the winter season. Taking advantage of our current “Winter o’ ’11,” the folks at Dodge have given us “Snowpocalypse.” When you drive the redesigned Dodge Durango, Charger, or Journey with AWD, you don’t have to anticipate the worst because their performance abilities in any weather will get you there on time.

In case you need a refresher, the Durango is all-new for 2011. It has shed its Dakota styling and now appears more luxurious. For our current period of austerity, a trucky SUV is somewhat un-PC but the Durango tackles snowy obstacles with aplomb and 23mpg highway. The Charger has been re-engineered with a sleeker look with styling highlights hearkening back to 1969-70. And the Journey is perhaps 2011’s most improved vehicle, with a brand-new interior, revamped suspension and steering, and the new Pentastar V-6 producing 280 horsepower being the notables.
