We admit it. We are suckers for videos that contain cool cars, especially something as righteous as a ’70 Challenger T/A. This particular video is an interesting one in the fact that it appears to be completely home-made, but is really quite well done. It features the Challenger traveling the streets of Hamburg, Germany and follows the adventures of a few cool guys in the process. There is no street drag race, nor is there a single burnout, and really nothing out of the ordinary other than regular driving featured, but for some reason it’s just cool.
We dig the shot of the Mopar branded modern tape deck in the dash as well as a stop at a filling station where they fill up with several liters of petrol. No words are spoken as the only thing you’ll here is the bluesy music of the soundtrack and the sweet exhaust of the Challenger. That’s it. Like all well made films, it will leaving you wanting more and you’ll find yourself grabbing your keys to head out for a cruise afterward. Better yet, it’s even shot in full HD. Whoever put this video together did a good job of incorporating the Challenger as a character in the film, as it’s not merely a prop.
1970 was the only year for the Challenger T/A. It was created as a requirement of SCCA for the Challenger to participate as a race car in the Trans Am series. Street versions of the challenger ran a 340 small block with a 6-pack carburetor setup. The engine was conservatively rated at 290hp, but in reality made well over 300.
