Shock and awe is generally a good way to get attention. The attention itself may not be good, but it’ll be attention none-the-less! One way to grab some attention is to set your car up with flame throwers. Alcohol charged exhaust pipes with spark plugs added in and BOOM you have attention heading your way.
A car club in Minnesota named the Frankensteiners holds an annual show at the Anoka County Fairgrounds and flame throwing hot rods is one of the events. Dubbed the Frankensteiner’s Ball, this year marked the 9th annual event and was the biggest yet. Each year the group gets more vendors, more cars, and more attendees. The 30-foot Flame Thrower competition was one of the big highlights.
Check out the video above for some of the action. Warning, there is explicit language in this video. Tinman II Kustoms put together this compilation of flame throwing action and also added in the chats he had with car owners about their cars and mods done to them. Featuring some pretty unique ways to pipe the flames out, each car was set up a bit differently. One car, a 1963 Oldsmobile Cutless runs an all aluminum 215 cubic-inch V8. The tricked part about that hot rod is the hydraulic exhaust tips to kick his flames further away from his patina’d paint job.
Another car tosses some good flames out of the sides and another has some massive and gnarly looking tips sticking up at close to a 45 degree angle. For more from Tinman II Kustoms, head to their YouTube channel. You can get more info on the Frankensteiners at www.frankensteiners.com.
