Gearstar’s owner and founder, Zack Farah, started building transmissions 25 years ago at Tristar International and cut his teeth by pushing out 300 transmissions a day. Zach realized that only a few companies were offering anything other than cookie cutter transmissions from the big manufacturers, and saw a niche for building strictly high performance units for racers, street rods and muscle cars.

After assembling a team of five of the best builders in the business, Gearstar was born and became one of the first companies to build transmissions custom tailored to the performance parameters of the car it was being bolted into. Each transmission is built by one master tech from start to finish, and is delivered with the equivalent of 100 test miles to insure each gearbox is in perfect operating order.
