What do you do when your friend’s Lamborghini catches on fire? You snatch the undamaged motor out of the smoking hulk and cram it on a motorcycle! That’s what Chuck Beck from Atlanta, GA did when his wife ”was out of the country” for a while. Hooniverse brings us the story and video on how he mounted and harnessed the power of this unwieldy V-12 on just two wheels. Caffeine and Cars posted a video on YouTube as well.
Undaunted by physics or rational thought, Mr. Beck embarked on this mega cycle build and came up with what you see here. When asked what he started out with he said, “Nothing.” The frame is completely custom built and designed around the engine, which depending on what type of Countach it came from, could range from 4-liters to 5.2-liters and 350 horsepower to 450 horsepower. The next problem to solve was how to deliver all that power to rear wheel. Beck decided to use a three-speed transmission from a old Volkswagen and says it hooked up to the Italian mega motor with little fuss. The custom gas tank and rear mounted, dual radiators are especially cool as well.
He says it rides like any other motorcycle, once it’s up and running. It’s all motor and petrol head porn and we don’t even think it’s a motorcycle anymore, but a two-wheeled engine stand for the V-12. Very cool. God only knows how much this thing weighs, but make sure the kick stand is sturdy, wear your leathers and bring your rosary ‘cause you’re gonna need ‘em.
