Some of the greatest hot rods ever built can be found at car shows all across the world. But at the Chopped Rod & Custom show in Newstead, Victoria- Australia last weekend, it wasn’t the typical trailer queens and pristine show cars you would have seen there. That’s because at the Chopped show, it’s all about driving what you brought to its fullest capabilities, on a dirt drag course none-the-less. Check it out in the video above!
Held over three days on the outskirts of the small town of Newstand, the annual Chopped Rod & Custom show is a weekend long event filled with vintage rides, classic fashions, and of course, beloved rock and roll.
This year, the show proved to be just as crazy as in years past as hundreds of hot rod enthusiasts swarmed the event grounds for some good ‘ole traditional fun.
While highlights of the show, held October 4th through the 6th this year, include live rockabilly bands, girls in pinup attire and of course rows and rows of cars and vintage bikes, the biggest crowd pleaser is the vintage-style dirt drags that run all weekend long.
Although it’s across the pond, this event looks like a must-see. Another one for the hot rod bucket list!
