Hot rodding is huge in the southern pacific. Rod Authority is always catching photos shared on the web and Facebook postings that offer glimpses into that side of the hot rod and kustom world. Occasionally we get to spend some time with our friends from New Zealand and Australia at events held in the states. One thing, our southern cousins get down when it comes to keeping hot rodding and kustom kulture alive. The video recap shot by fellow online magazine Hot Rod Revue is a poignant example of the raw passion for cars present across the pacific.
From the aspect of film to the ambiance of Muscle Car Madness 2014 and shows like it such as Australia’s Chopped Rod & Custom–it seams like youth and the younger generation have a major presence in the culture. There’s not much to say, the video above does a good job doing the spirit of southern octane justice.
Hot Rod Revue is a digital magazine dedicated to the very best that there side of hot rodding is producing–the counter culture, the artists, the youth, the preservers of history, and those propelling it further into a time that is constantly navigating away from its roots. Be sure to check out the recap of Muscle Car Madness 2014 and relish in the visceral glory of banged up steel, blown tires, and thick layers of of dirt, grime, and gravel spit up relentlessly towards the bleacher stands of octane filled enthusiasts.
You can check out Hot Rod Revue’s homepage and their Facebook to stay up to date with their film work–Rod Authority will certainly be doing the same and getting the word out about their amazing videos whenever they arise.
