By now, we’re sure you’re familiar with the popular trend of showing new cars, especially those in the muscle car class, sliding around road courses for advertisement purposes. The latest video we found on Car Scoop promoting the Chrysler Group’s SRT8 vehicles is no different. Unfortunately, while the SRT advertisement appeals to viewers visually, Chrysler left out something very important- the sounds of the powerful fleet.
Yes, this video showcases each of the 2012 SRT8 models quite well, including the Charger, Challenger, Chrysler 300 and even the Jeep Grand Cherokee. With tires spinning and cars drifting expertly around a course, the video definitely captures the brutish force behind the SRT name badge.
However, the video fails to capture the sounds of throaty exhausts, squealing tires and roaring engines that we have all come to expect from the high-performance SRT-branded vehicles. Call us crazy, but we think these sounds actually make the vehicles more appealing.
Unfortunately, we don’t get a say in how the SRT videos are done, or any vehicle advertisement for that matter. Perhaps the dubbed over background music is meant to make the vehicles more appealing to people not traditionally impressed with the sounds of high-performance vehicles. Regardless, we’re still impressed with the 2012 SRT8 line-up. Hopefully Chrysler will give us some ear candy in their future advertisement videos.
