Video: Midwest Muscle Car Challenge 2011: Build em’, Drive em’!

Many people credit the great Mark Stielow with starting the Pro-Touring movement back in the 1990’s with his first corner carving ’69 Camaro build, but we’re betting he never thought it would blossom into what it has become today. The video we’ve included here is from the Midwest MuscleCar Challenge event that was held over Labor Day weekend, and it’s an outstanding show of the cars, the speed, and the people that make this movement something special.

During the event competitors brought out their Mustangs, Camaro’s, Chevelle’s, Charger’s, and the like. Some cars were built to the hilt with the latest exotic suspension technology and late model motors, and others wore faded factory paint and were just there for the fun of it.

What’s really captured well in this video is the fact that this movement is more than a bunch of hot rodders getting together for fun; it’s actually becoming a family affair. As more and more of these style of events grow, so does the family. Brandy Moore from Spectre reflected in the video that while she’d driven in the Redline series, NASA events, and even the SCCA, those type of series and events never came close to fun and friends she had made doing these kind of events.

That’s good enough for us.  Sign us up!
