Over at Pro-Touring.com, it’s not uncommon to find classic muscle car projects or newly transformed pro-touring cars. It’s not everyday, however, that we get the chance to ride along with one of the owners while he tests out his new build on the track. Thanks to a video posted on YouTube and the Pro-Touring site, we now have the chance to ride along with an owner while he tests out his renovated ’69 Charger at the Willow Springs Raceway in Rosamond, California.
What is unique about the video is that it is shot from just over the back tire rather than from the inside of the car, or from the sidelines of the track. At this angle, you can see how well the car handles pulling through corners and gaining speed on the straightaways, all while hearing the roar of the engine. Willow Springs offers a road course track that Pro-Touring user, Mike, was able to take advantage of. The car performed well while sharing the track with other classic Mopar vehicles including a Plymouth Road Runner.
BioHazard, the name Mike gave his car, has been a labor of love and our congratulations goes out to him for getting the car this far. Although the car made its first pass on the track earlier in the month, Mike states in a forum post that he needs to still put the new mill in the car and work out a couple of bugs. Even with a few quirks, the car is definitely an impressive machine on and off the track.
