Resembling classic luxury and aesthetics that would later be appealing in hot rodding, Mopar envisioned a car that would influence many future coupes. RK Motors Charlotte is currently selling a classic street rod gem: a 1934 Dodge coupe.
A fully custom build, this Dodge coupe is the culmination of years of extensive planning that included an all-inclusive frame-off restoration and unique aesthetics to complement it. The candy red paint screams street rod.
Completely different from its OEM counterpart, this Dodge coupe is custom from the ground up. With the restoration completed in 2004, the all-steel body houses a 350ci GM Performance Parts ZZ4 V8 engine coupled with a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission.
The ZZ4 V8 engine has a 10:1 compression ratio and cranks out 355hp with 405 lb/ft of torque. We have to agree that the new heart in this Dodge coupe will make this cruiser a bullet when it’s time to push pedal to the metal.
We like the curvature of the fenders, which defined this era of vehicles. Envisioning this Dodge coupe as a street rod, we would probably look into chopping the top a few inches to give it a more aggressive look.
Power disc brakes, LED tail lamps and rack-and-pinion steering help keep the Dodge coupe in control and of course safe to drive on today’s roads. The 15-inch Wheel Vintiques wheels give the Dodge coupe a classic, luxurious appeal.
Speaking of luxurious appeal, this Dodge coupe features a plush gray interior; complete with bucket seats, a column shifter and Classic Instruments gauges. A modern touch has been added with a custom Sony audio system and air conditioning to keep the driver entertained and cool.
Honestly, not much needs to be done to this street rod since it has been fully restored. In the right hands, this Dodge can be modified into a car show champ.
But as is, this ride is fast, functional and deserves a worthy owner. What are your thoughts on this car? Be sure to check out the rest of RK Motors inventory here.
