SRT is more than a high-performance brand, it is also a symbol of speed freaks and performance enthusiasts everywhere. A few weeks back, SRT racers proved that by competed in the 10th-annual Targa Newfoundland in Canada. Taking place along a scenic route bordering the Atlantic, the course challenged even the most seasoned drivers as it veered around steep curves, over gravel and across wet roads. But the challenge wasn’t the only reason the SRT team was at the race. Thanks to Redline Dodge for bringing us the news.

While road rallies are opportunities for teams to test out new equipment and compete with fellow racers, the SRT team also raced for a cause at Targa Newfoundland. With three vehicles on the course, the SRT team raised $26,000 for the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, an organization striving to better the lives of those individuals affected by autism.

In addition to their charitable spirits, the team brought out a Viper SRT10 and two new 396cui HEMI-powered SRT8 Challengers. Taking second place in the Modern Category behind the wheel of the Viper was Ralph Gilles. Fellow SRT team member Rob Pacione drove his modified SRT8 Challenger to a win in the Open Category while rookie George Notaras drove his stock SRT8 to a ninth place victory in the Grand Touring class.

With the Targa Newfoundland commenced, SRT proved to not only create impressive cars but also inspire fans to give generously. We look forward to seeing the SRT brand making a difference at future events.
