The Chicago Auto Show is the longest-running, largest new vehicle show in the country and offers insight to future automotive models to come every year. The 2012 Chicago Auto Show was no different and some Chrysler enthusiasts got a special treat this year with SRT’s President Ralph Gilles on the floor answering some questions we all want answers to. Check out some of the highlights in the short DriveSRT YouTube video above.
The SRT (Street and Race Technology) brand has always been synonymous with power and performance and the future SRT models will be no different. According to Gilles, SRT will be looking at ways to improve their powertrains for the future as well as looking at other engine options.
The SRT brand is also becoming increasingly focused on all-around performance rather than just horsepower ratings and the company plans to continue to improve the well-roundedness of their offerings.
As far as future models go, Gilles or the SRT representatives didn’t let anything slip about a possible Barracuda in the future, but they did discuss the reveal of the 2013 SRT Viper coming up April 4th at the New York Auto Show.
In addition to a question and answer session, the SRT crew had the new Charger SRT8 Super Bee and the Challenger SRT8 Yellow Jacket out on display. These two 2012-exclusive cars are hitting show rooms the first quarter of this year.
