When Mad Max needed to repair his Interceptor, chances are good that he put in the call to Rocket Industries in New South Wales, Australia. The company is an aftermarket performance parts specialist, with a warehouse and parts count to rival many of the North American distributors.
The company hosts an annual Open House and recently showed their new King Kong ‘Cuda, a project car designed as a showcase for many of the products carried by the company.
Subject to a complete body restoration, this Plymouth carries itself well, doubtless to a lot of chassis work which, unfortunately, isn’t discussed at all during the video.
The right hand drive ‘Cuda carries a 528cui HEMI engine under the hood, topped with Hogan fuel injection. Though they’d not dyno’d the car at the time of filming, Chris Pallazo, National Marketing Manager for the company, indicates that it could be as high as 900 horsepower.
The car is covered in the video below, which is all abou thte Open House day, Skip ahead to the ten minute mark if you want to go straight to the ‘Cuda segment, but you’ll be missing out of some great car guy stuff. There is also a more comprehensive gallery of photos of the car on the Rocket Industries web site.
If nothing else, this ‘Cuda is proof positive that – despite what GM says about the Corvette – building rockets is not an exclusively American activity.
