We’ll admit it; the Hollywood cars that we fell in love with as kids are ones that we never got over. They were our Friday night pals on TV, and silver screen stars. From the Duke Boys’ “General Lee,” to “KITT” the Trans Am, and even Herbie the Love Bug; these cars all left a big impression on us.
Another car we can’t get enough of is the DMC-12 Delorean, made famous in the “Back to the Future” trilogy of movies, but featured best in the first movie put out in 1985. By the time that move came out the Delorean Motor Company was dead on gone, never to return again. Or was it?
In 1995, another fan of the Delorean decided to find a way to keep the DMC-12’s alive. Texas entrepreneur Stephen Wynne started a separate company using the same “DeLorean Motor Company” name and shortly thereafter acquired the remaining parts inventory and the stylized “DMC” logo trademark of DeLorean Motor Company.
The “new” Delorean company is based in Houston and is the premier source for people wanting to have their existing Delorean restored, or ti simply purchase a “new” one! The video featured here was put together by what appears to be a film student. It’s a very cool look at the inventory, the facility, and the great lines of the DMC-12.
