Spending time in the world of automotive forums is not only a great way to make contacts with fellow gearheads and spy on them from afar, but it’s also a fantastic way to find fodder for cool news features. Case in point, we found this ’69 Charger over on dodgecharger.com, just after several pictures and videos were posted on it’s latest autocross run.
The stock Charger leaned and screamed in all of the right ways, and like all great cars this one has a fantastic story. To begin with, the car belongs to Adam Miller, and 9 years ago this Charger was just another project car. Today this is the car he drives around his college campus, likely fending off the ladies at every stop light.
The Charger was built as a father and son project. It was purchased with a wheezy 318 under the hood, and a previous owner replaced the ’69 front clip with that of a ’68 Charger (thus the different fenders and grille from that of a ’69). They replaced the floors, part of the frame, the trunk, most of the interior, some suspension components, and front brakes, essentially returning the car back to it’s fully stock condition.
The 318 was tossed in lieu of a 440 big block backed by a 727 automatic trans. Future upgrades include ditching the peg-leg 2.77 rear end for a 3.91 posi, Hotchkiss Suspension, disc brakes all around, Edelbrock RPM Intake, and a Proform 750 double pumper for extra breathing as well as stickier rubber!
