Dodge is currently seeking to expand their fleet capabilities to new customers, namely law enforcement agencies looking for the latest and latest in patrol/pursuit vehicles. According to Autoblog, criminals and would-be stars of high speed pursuits had better rethink their ideas about outrunning the police thanks to the high-performance yet fuel efficient Chargers.
The 2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit police vehicle comes with a 292-horsepower 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine or an optional 370-horsepower 5.7L HEMI. Both engines feature a 5-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, but it is hard to resist the allure of the HEMI namesake. With the switch to alternative fuels, the Pentastar V6 is flex-fuel capable, meaning it can use regular gasoline of E-85, which may offer cost savings to the various agencies.

Dodge aims to have their Charger Pursuit editions as a ready-made and ready to serve offering that should simplify the order process for various agencies.
A total of six police packages are currently available for order; each of the these packages were designed in partnership with Crown North America to meet specific police duties while keeping performance and functionality at the forefront. Police specific features like a 100-watt siren, power distribution center, Emergency Equipment Electrical System Wire Harness, an adjustable slide out tray in the trunk with an internal buss bar to alleviate poor grounding and a built-in truck fan designed to keep all electrical equipment a safe operating temperature.
