We’ve all heard the expression: A boy and his toys. This expression is usually uttered when a grown man spends his time enjoying his “toys” and having fun. For us gearheads, those toys are our cars, trucks, bikes, boats, quads… you get the picture, right? We can never have enough toys, and another saying we’re all familiar with, albeit a bit antiquated these days, is: “He who dies with the most toys, wins”.
If you’re like us, we like toys, especially automotive toys. On any given day, you can walk through the narrow aisles here at Power Automedia and find no less than a couple dozen toy cars in cubicles, on desks, on shelves, in book cases, and there are probably even more at each person’s home. We love our toys, and that includes the life-sized cars in the shop. Hey, we tried to grow up once but it didn’t take.
So when we were browsing around on eBay recently, we found another toy to add to our arsenal that we hadn’t seen before: A Baer Brakes yo-yo. Now, we’ve seen the golf balls with the Baer logo, the t-shirts and golf tees, and of course their awesome brake packages that we use on some of our own cars here at Power Automedia, but these yo-yos are listed as NOS, that’s New Old Stock! Why haven’t we seen these before, is it because the yo-yo had died out and is now trying to make a comeback?
Whatever it was that put the brakes on this cool toy that puts a new spin on an old wheel, we like it. But there aren’t very many left, so if you want to get your hands on a Baer Brakes brake rotor yo-yo (say that five times fast), get on over to eBay and see if you can walk the dog with your new toy. There’s dark blue, light blue, yellow, gray and silver, and only a couple or so of each one – they’re even slotted and drilled. Okay, not really drilled, but still.
