We know you’re waiting to see what Project Swinger looks like since she’s been painted by Z-Best Auto Body & Paint, but we aren’t quite ready to let you in on that little secret. However, we do have some eye candy for you, giving you a sneak peak at what the interior of our pro-touring Nova is going to look like.
Last month, we took a look at all the brightwork we have for Swinger. To set off all that chrome, we decided to fit the Nova with a clean, all black interior. With none other than Classic Industries backing our immense project, we were set up with the perfect interior components to give Swinger the sleek look we are aiming for. Thanks to all of Classic’s OER products, we were also able to get many pieces that met or exceeded original factory standards.
With simplicity in mind, we chose to keep things looking stock with all black door panels, arm rests and body kick panels (9614814-5). Even the coat hooks (C442) we got are black. Set off by the few chrome pieces we have for the interior (window regulators, door locks, and visor hangars) these black components will add to the allure of Swinger.
While we’re not fooling in thinking this will be some daily cruise, we did try to equip ourselves with some insulation for the interior. That’s where Classic’s trunk partition (N15700) and partition jute (RJ168) meets the under-carpet and firewall sound deadener. Adding to the simplicity of the interior, we picked up a really cherry Lokar foot emergency brake set-up (FB9001A).
Not wanting to forgo our comfort when driving Swinger, we picked up a pair of black Rally seats from Procar by Scat. These bad boys not only have the simple look we wanted, but also feature vintage vertical stitching and large side bolstering for added support when we unleash our pro-touring beast in the corners.
Seal It Up
Classic also set us up with pieces to make our Nova weather-tight and rattle resistant. Components like the side glass felts, window weather stripping, trunk weather stripping, windshield and rear glass sealer and a rubber stopper set will keep Swinger’s interior protected from the majority of what mother nature throws her way and let us hear more engine rumble than pesky vibration noises. We also got an acoustic shield (AS317) from Classic that will give us the quiet riding comfort of a modern vehicle.
Needing to mount all of our interior, we received just about every clip and fastener imaginable. From door panel clips and cable retaining clips to window and windshield molding clips, we have them all. Also included in our mounting hardware was a door hinge rebuild set (K106) and an arm rest base screw set.
Obviously we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves with all this talk about interiors when we haven’t even shown you Project Swinger’s new look, but we’ll be getting to that soon enough. For now, you’re going to have to be content with imaging just how good Swinger’s going to look with her sleek cabin thanks to Classic Industries and Procar by Scat. Make sure to check back soon to see our big reveal of Swinger’s fresh new look.
