Is Electronic Fuel Injection Right For You?

This is a wonderful technological age we are living in: Doctors are curing some forms of cancer, we’ve got greater computing power in our pockets than they had on the space shuttle and we’re simply calling them “phones”, YouTube has more cat videos than you could ever watch in your lifetime–OK, maybe that’s not so good–and not only is a modern, self-learning fuel injection system available for your muscle or classic car, you currently have your choice among several options.

It is true that replacing your carburetor with a modern fuel injection replacement kit is easier than ever before. But the question remains: Is fuel injection right for your ride? After all, you’ve been using a carburetor all this time and doing allright, why change it?

That’s a legitimate question. If you are worried about the difficulty of installing an EFI system, we’ve got some great information for you here in a previous post. But you may still wondering what practical differences will you see after the install is complete. Are there really that many real-world differences?

We found this excellent video by David Page of FAST explaining some of what you can expect with a modern fuel injection system. What’s cool about this video is David really doesn’t mention his own system. Instead, he talks generally about the technology, so no matter which EFI system you are planning to purchase–or if you are still trying to decide–there’s lots of great useful info here.
