Rod Authority is always on the lookout for fellow publications fording the pages of the digital world. With breakneck turnaround and fewer editing phases before publication, the digital magazine, unbeknownst to some, is an operation with high expectations to deliver content and an elevated level of quality control placed on the writer and filmer.
With that, we had to share a site that has just come to our attention that is equal parts badass, awesome, slick, and clean–The Department of Style. Be sure to check out this online publication because they’ve got a serious dose of quality content.
Their site layout reflects a style that some of the best digital magazines out there utilize today–minimalistic, bold, and easy to navigate. The black and grey photo filters that transition to color photos when a reader hovers over a story is a classy touch.
What makes this publication so awesome is that it is a “grab bag” lifestyle magazine featuring several sections dedicated to varying cultures. We haven’t gotten a chance to peruse each story but it would seem that every article is accompanied by a short film, and who doesn’t love watching an artistic documentary-style short? They’re inspiring and offer a deeper incite into the subject matter versus your typical seated interview.
The Department of Style has the following sections: automotive, menswear, ladieswear, hardware, sports and sporting goods, major appliances, music, food hall, outdoors, and travel desk. With over ten magazine sections this is a full fledged operation and offers a total digest for anyone looking to fortify their cultural diet when at home or at work.
Stay tuned as Rod Authority will definitely share some of The Department of Style’s automotive content as it becomes available!
