In a world where five- , six- , and seven-speed manual transmissions seem to be on everyone’s wish list, McLeod Racing and Silver Sport Transmissions have decided to bring back the legendary Muncie M22 Rock Crusher four-speed transmission —to which we say, “Hallelujah!”

These are not remanufactured old gearboxes. These are brand-new M22-style transmissions.

Inspired by the legendary Muncie M22 “Rock Crusher,” the new transmission captures the old-school feel and unmistakable character that made the original a favorite among muscle car enthusiasts. Built with durability and performance in mind, the M22-style four-speed delivers the strength enthusiasts demand while keeping the classic four-speed driving experience alive.

The new M22-style gearbox won a Media’s Choice Award at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Sister company McLeod also received a Media’s Choice award for its new RXT 3D Triple Disc Clutch kit. Engineered to handle up to 1,650 horsepower, the McLeod RXT 3D features three ceramic friction discs designed to deliver exceptional torque capacity without sacrificing the drivability enthusiasts expect from a street clutch. The complete bolt-in kit includes a pressure plate, three clutch discs, floater plates, flywheel, hardware, and hydraulic release bearing.

The RXT 3D gives enthusiasts the confidence to push their builds to the next level while maintaining the street-friendly performance that has made McLeod’s RXT lineup a favorite among performance enthusiasts.

“Winning two Media’s Choice awards at the SEMA Show is a huge honor for our teams,” said Bob Scheid, Vice President of The Wharton Automotive Group. “With the RXT 3D, we’re showing enthusiasts that you don’t have to give up street drivability to handle serious horsepower. And with the M22, we’re bringing back a legendary transmission that muscle car enthusiasts have loved for decades. These awards are a great recognition of the hard work our teams put into developing products that people actually want to drive.”
