2nd Annual Gearhead Invasion Invades St. Louis, Missouri August 17th

On Saturday August 17th, Gateway Harley-Davidson in St. Louis, Missouri will be hosting its second Gearhead Invasion Show. This is an all comers event featuring an array of custom bikes and pre ’63 automobiles. There will be a $5 entry per vehicle and proceeds will go towards the USO (United Service Organizations) of Missouri.

The USO was founded in 1954 by President Roosevelt. It is a non-profit organization providing a multi-program, full-service agency, geared towards the welfare and recreational needs of the military community and their families. Registration for the car and bike show will be between the hours of 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Judging will commence between the hours of 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Awards will be announced at 4:00 p.m.

Saturday will offer a multitude of festivities throughout the day and there will be live music from Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers, Hillbilly Casino, and the Twistin’ Tarantulas. The tentative set list is as follows:

• Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers – 9:00 a.m.
• Hillbilly Casino – 11:00 a.m.
• Twistin’ Tarantulas – 2:00 p.m.

One of the most exciting highlights of the event will be an appearance and demonstration by Gene Winfield as part of his chop tour. An exact time slot has yet to be released but this is definitely something you won’t want to miss. So, if you’re near the area charge your smartphones and prepare to get some first hand footage of history in the making. The following is a breakdown of the days activities:

• Live pinstriping – 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Dyno runs – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• KSHE Live Radio Show 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• You can purchase a raffle ticket for $10 in order to try your odds at winning a 2013 FLHX Street Glide! All proceeds for the raffle will go to the USO of Missouri.
• Tattoo competition sponsored by Thunder Dome Tattoo.
• Pinup contest sponsored by Hooters of South County.

This is sure to be a day full of fun and excitement for car and bike enthusiasts alike. To commemorate the event, Gearhead Invasion T-shirts will be available for $20 the day of.
