The annual Moab Jeep Safari is one of the nation’s biggest gatherings of 4×4 vehicle enthusiasts. Many automakers have chosen this gathering as the place to unveil upcoming off-road vehicles, as well as awesome new concepts that appeal to the road-less-traveled community. As you might expect of a Jeep Safari, the old American brand has a big presence at the show.

This year Jeep is bringing a badass Wrangler concept called the Trailerdozer to Moab, and the name is appropriate. For under the hood is a 6.4 liter, 470 horsepower HEMI V8. Traildozer indeed.

Built in conjunction with American Expedition Vehicles, the Traildozer is heavy-duty to the extreme. The transmission is a six-speed Getrag Unit, which drives the wheels through Rubicon-specific Dana 44 axles with 4:10 gearing and electronic locking differentials. That’s a lot of technology for a trail crawler.

For Tires, the Traildozer rides on huge 37-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials mounted on Mopar classic wheels. The suspension has also been jacked up 3.5-inches, and underbody panels have been fitted to protect all of the sensitive motorized bits. Jeep intends to bring the Traildozer to production  this summer as a kit…and what a kit it will be. Who wouldn’t want to drive a HEMI-powered Wrangler?
