Whenever we head to the store and park our car, we always assume it will be right where we left it. Alas, car thieves and pranksters make off with unattended cars every second of every day, and even the safest communities are not immune to the occasional joy ride or grand theft auto.
However, a bizarre case involving a new Dodge Challenger and a Southern California lake has left the police scratching their heads. The Temecula Patch reports that a 2010 Challenger was pushed into Harveston Lake in Temecula, California this weekend.
Reports came into Temecula Police early Saturday morning that several men were seen pushing a silver Dodge Challenger through the Harveston Lake Community towards the lake that gives the development its name. When police arrived though, both the pushers and the Challenger was gone.
Police divers later located the Challenger at the bottom of the lake, and officers were able to determine that the Challenger was stolen from a nearby Harveston home. So far, police have been unable to locate the car thieves, and another Challenger has been soaked and ruined for no good reason. Sigh.
