Chrysler and Fiat are expanding, but not just in the United States. Over the years, the Middle East and Chinese markets have also seen more Mopar sales. With these increased sales comes more need for parts, services and support from the brand. That’s why Chrysler/Fiat has just opened two new distribution centers in Shanghai, China and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which will supply dealers, distributors and local sales companies with over 65,000 parts according to a press release we found on Autoblog. So much for the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation’s predictions of ultimate demise for the company in 2025, huh?

The new distribution center in Shanghai is 16,000 square-meters and will carry over 35,000 part numbers to be distributed to 130 dealers in China and 20 third-party distributors in the Asia Pacific region. On the other side of the region, the 18,000 square-meter facility in Dubai will carry about 30,000 part numbers and will be responsible for supplying Middle Eastern and African distributors.

In addition to these new distribution centers, Chrysler will expand their presence in the region through the opening of more Mopar Express Lanes in 2012. These service centers provide Mopar customers with comprehensive vehicle inspections, brand support and factory-backed services. In 2011, five Express Lanes opened in Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. In 2012, seven more of these service centers will open in the region, including in Qatar, Iraq and Abu Dhabi, as well as more in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The addition of the Shanghai and Dubai distribution centers and the 12 new Mopar Express Lanes brings Mopar’s global presence to over 120 different markets. Here’s to a beloved American automotive manufacturer expanding across the world!
