The 2011 LA Auto show had some very interesting debuts including this Chrysler 300S 426 HEMI V8 concept you see here.  According to CarScoops, this “Brute in a Suit,” is a joint project between Chrysler and its Mopar Parts brand which added some cosmetic upgrades and high performance hardware to a New Gen LX 300 sedan.

First off, a 426 HEMI crate engine was stuffed under a ZR- 1 like glass paneled hood.  Mopar didn’t release any horsepower numbers, but it’s either the all-aluminum 426 Generation III HEMI V8 that is rated at 540 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque, or the latest 426 Gen III High Output HEMI with a humongous 590-horsepower on tap. In a finishing touch, the engine and strut tower brace are all sprayed in monochromatic silver tones.

Next, we get a walk around from Chrysler brand CEO Saad Chehab, as he takes us on a tour of the 300S, highlighting the styling and mechanical tweaks done to the car. This 300 has been treated to monochromatic exterior touches, suspension upgrades, unique interior bits and some killer exhaust tuning.

Chehab says it’s just a styling exercise for now, built to gauge reaction from crowds at the show.  If the response is strong enough, it could push this car into production.  We say build the thing  ASAP, and a Challenger version too.
