And now for something completely different. Our pal Jimi Day from FM3 Marketing makes a living by putting together pro-touring speed events and marketing for some of the biggest names in the industry, so it makes sense that he’s decided to join the ranks and have a car of his own built so that he can have a little fun too. That being said, Jimi has always had a sense of style that others admire so his Pro Touring car is a choice so unique one; and AMC AMX.

You’ll likely wonder why Jimi ever made a choice like this since AMC speed parts are not exactly plentiful, but Jimi knew that the car would be unique and would attract plenty of eyeballs. He enlisted the expert build services of Randy Johnson at D&Z Customs to make it all happen, and the end result is what you see here.

The car made it’s debut to the public at LS-Fest a few weeks ago, as a 550HP LS3 from GM Performance Parts is under the hood backed up by a Keisler RS600 manual transmission with a Centerforce DYAD twin-disc clutch. The front suspension is a Heidt’s Pro-G setup, but the rear is a complete custom four link created by D&Z Customs for this project.
All four corners are adorned with Ridetech Coilovers, and the binders are all massive 14″ Wilwoods. The wheels are Rushforth Nighttrains with brushed aluminum centers, polished hoops, and a red pinstripe, and all are wrapped in BFGoodrich KDW’s.
Jimi will have the car on display at SEMA as well this year, so look for plenty more coverage on this incredible little AMX!
