Don’t let anyone ever tell you that all of the good cars are gone, because we just spotted this complete ’69 Charger over on eBay that had been in climate controlled storage since 1980! We love stories like these because, quite frankly, it flies in the face of all the naysayers.
According to the listing it’s still wearing its factory R4 red paint that was applied by Dodge, and from the pictures here it actually looks pretty decent.
The grille, which is a commonly mangled component on ’69’s, is in perfect condition.
It does have a few small rust spots here and there, and the windshield is cracked, but other than that it appears to be in perfect condition. It runs, looks, and drives just as it did as an 11-year old car!
From an options perspective this Charger was fairly well set up. It has factory A/C, a console shifted automatic, power steering, power brakes, a mint condition wood wheel and pedal trim, and a Tic-Tock-Tach.
The fuel system is the one component of the car that was replaced, which makes sense for a car stored over 30 years.
It’s equipped with a 318 that runs well, but out back is a nice 8 3/4 rear end with a 3:23 Sure Grip! This would be a great car to buy and drive, convert into an R/T, or perhaps even create a General Lee from.
We’re just wishing we’d of had the $16K it took to get it!
