eBay Find Of The Day: Original ’69 H/O With Unoriginal Buick Plant

We found this ’69 Hurst Oldsmobile on an eBay auction, and at the time of this writing had not reached reserve, so it may still be available. If you know anything about these cars they are some of the most desirable cars in the Old’s lineup that were ever built.

With about only 913 units ever built for ’69, including two convertibles, makes this find a very desirable find.

Looking over the ad we spotted a few discrepancies that were not true to this model, the Hurst Olds in ’69 came with gold striped headrests, which are clearly missing. The engine if you look closely is a Buick not an Oldsmobile engine.

The car itself appears to be legit, but we can also note that it is missing its Hurst only, Chrome SSll 15×7 wheels it was born with, and the radio shown in the dash is also wrong for the car. Looking closely at the pics of the dash to the right of the radio should have been a Hurst decor plate mounted on the glovebox door and its missing as well.

Again we aren’t saying this isn’t a good car to buy and restore, but it is missing quite a few of the parts that completed the Hurst Old’s package.

So you may need to consider that you will spend quite a bit of time and money hunting down the original parts to complete the restoration, if that is the direction you plan to go with this car.

Taking further notice, the Ram Air assembly is also missing and this car also came with model specific side view mirrors that appear to have been replaced at some time.

This ’69 Hurst Olds is still very restore able by the looks of it, and it has some nice documentation with it, but as with many early muscle cars it probably wasn’t thought that cars like this would be as valuable today, as is the case with many collectibles.
