In this video, Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim of Team Cadillac each take you through a lap around Toronto’s Mosport International Raceway in their CTS-V Coupe race cars, preparing for rounds 5 and 6 of the Pirelli World Challenge.
Listen and watch as they narrate the course, an A-list track most professional drivers with its elevation changes, long back straight and world famous challenges. “Mosport is one of my favorite tracks, because it’s fast and it’s a little bit dangerous,” explained O’Connell, driver of the #3 Cadillac CTS-V. “It’s old-school, and I like to go fast.”
Since 1961, Mosport has been one the most challenging tracks in the world, hosting Formula One, Indy Car, Can-Am, stock car, World Endurance, Formula 5000, Formula Atlantic and Formula Fords, GT events of every description. No fewer than 16 Formula One World Driving Champions – men like Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti and Nick Lauda have raced there. Many Indianapolis 500 winners including Rodger Ward, A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Bobby Unser, Rick Mears and Gordon Johncock have also raced at Mosport.

The 2.5-mile, 10-turn circuit, which is located about an hour west of Toronto, Canada, hosted a double header round of World Challenge competition recently. O’Connell visited the podium twice that weekend, once for a second place win and the other for a third.
Look to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, OH, for the next round of Pirelli World Challenge series action, coming Aug. 5 – 7th.
