At SEMA 2025, Auto Meter revealed a major update to its digital instrument line, addressing the challenge of putting modern gauges in vintage cars without cutting up the instrument panel. We stopped by its booth to talk with Mike Lovro about the new 8.8-inch InVision Dashboard, a smaller, more versatile version of their popular system designed to fit where the original 12.3-inch screen couldn’t.

A Direct Fit for Classic Trucks

Following the success of the larger original display, this new 8.8-inch version brings high-tech monitoring to a broader range of vehicles. Lovro explained the move: “We launched the original InVision back in 2020 with the 12.3-inch InVision Dashboard. It was a huge hit. We expanded to a bunch of different applications. Now, we’re expanding that out again.”

The kit comes with an injection-molded bezel that mounts to the factory points. Lovro highlighted the simplicity: “You just pull out the original dash and this will slide right in its place using all the factory mounting holes. So you don’t have to cut or modify or drill into anything.”

Customizing the InVision

The system is built to be a complete, all-in-one solution. Each kit includes a full six-gauge system that monitors speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, oil pressure, water temp, and voltage. Beyond the data, the look is fully adjustable. Users can choose from five different screen layouts and change colors to match their interior. Setup is designed to be incredibly simple, with no laptop needed. “All of that programming is done through the joystick. So it’s really easy to set up,” Lovro added.

Seamless EFI Connectivity

For builders using modern engine management, Auto Meter has introduced a new solution. Lovro explained, “The other cool thing is if you’re working on an aftermarket EFI system like a Holley, we now have the Auto Meter EFI CAN Bridge for Holley applications.” This module lets the display pull data straight from the ECU. “So if you’re running a Sniper, Dominator, or Terminator system, you can basically take that CAN message, it goes into the module and then directly can input into our InVision displays or even our traditional round instrument.”

Modernizing the Icons

With this launch, Auto Meter is reinforcing its commitment to the market’s core vehicles. Lovro noted its focus remains on the icons: “So really whatever you know applications that are kind of popular from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s that’s really our kind of our core market.”

With upcoming applications for Mustangs, Camaros, and Chevelles, Auto Meter is making it easier than ever to give a classic car modern reliability without losing its vintage character.
