With its dramatic proportions, extremely low body, retro styling cues, and gull-wing doors, the Genesis Essentia Concept made its summer debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Sunday, May 27.
The concept car is the first battery electric vehicle for Genesis and features a lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque, multi-motor electric powertrain, and a custom-tailored interior. It was created by the head of Genesis Design, Luc Donckerwolke, the man responsible for the styling of the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo, among other models.
“With this project, we set-out to create an object of desire, passion, and inspiration,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Global Head of the Genesis Brand. The car serves as the automakers initial vision for a true Grand Touring car.
