A man in Baytown, TX used the power of social media for good when he used Facebook to find his stolen 2011 Ford Mustang GT.
Dwight Sanders is a truck driver who was on the road in Kentucky when his neighbors called him to tell him someone kicked in his door. His neighbors called the police, and Sanders posted on Facebook that his guns, keys, titles, and his 2011 Mustang GT has been stolen from him house.
The stolen Mustang belonged to him and his wife, Dolores, who worked on customizing it together for years. It was a husband/wife projects until Dolores died of cancer in 2014. The Mustang wasn’t just a car to Dwight, it was the last memory he had of his beloved wide.
His post about the stolen Mustang GT was shared many times on Facebook, someone recognized it and contacted the victim on the site with a lead that helped police find the car.
The criminals who stole the Mustang tried to hide it with a tarp and by surrounding it with other items. When police arrested the suspect, the keys were in his pocket.
Fortunately, the Mustang was found in good condition, and Dwight will be getting it back soon!
