Two High-Dollar, Numbers-Matching ‘Cudas Worth Drooling Over

emblemThe only downfall to being a die-hard gearhead is the fact that the automotive world often proves to be hopelessly expensive – all the good stuff is usually a few bucks out of reach. And in the case of these two jaw-dropping Mopars, by ‘a few bucks’ we mean a few hundred-thousand dollars. However, the out-of-reach typically makes the best eye candy – especially when it’s a pair of immaculate-condition, numbers-matching, drop-dead gorgeous Hemi ‘Cudas like these.

The first one we came across was a 1-of-59 1971 ‘Cuda being sold by Fusion Luxury Motors in North Los Angeles. With a hefty asking price of $528,888, this car receives its 1-of-59 status thanks to its original four-speed transmission – of which only 59 ’71 hardtop-‘Cudas received. Numbers-matching and complete with Hemi Orange exterior, 1971-exclusive dual headlights and fender gills, and documentation from reputable VIN-decoder Galen Govier, there’s no question that this is a serious collectors’ car worthy of its serious price.bs23r1b368828_2

But for those looking for a slightly more budget-friendly ‘Cuda, this $269,900 426-powered 1970 is up for grabs through the same seller. Numbers-matching like its aforementioned counterpart, this car is half the price but just might be twice as gorgeous. Easily one of the prettiest color-combos on any muscle car, the Plum Crazy Purple exterior and white interior are original to the car, and definitely give it the can’t-take-your-eyes-off-it factor. The seller states that this car is also fully documented and authenticated by Galen Govier, and has most or all of the paperwork for the full restoration it received.

Regrettably, however, the bank-busting price tags on both cars mean that they’re likely destined to end up in the hands of the filthy-rich, garaged and rarely driven – if it all. While classic muscle cars like these two ‘Cudas are more than worthy of decorating show-floors, they only way we gearheads can truly appreciate them is through some quality time behind the wheel.
