On Labor Day Weekend, Saturday August 30th 2014, hot rods and trucks from all over the west will be invading the Ventura County Fairgrounds for the 12th year in a row. Open to pre-1968 American cars and trucks, the Ventura Nationals show has a reputation for bringing out some of the best builds around. Motorcycles will also be on display, ranging from 1979 and older of American and Foreign makes. The general theme of the entire show is kept up by the promoters requiring that no vehicle, car, truck, or motorcycle is allowed to have billet wheels.
The Ventura Nationals will have tons of vendors; Automotive and motorcycle inspired art by Kustom Kulture artists and vendors, surf inspired art, vintage clothing and car parts sales. Companies like Mooneyes, Acme Speed Shop, and even Budweiser will be on hand.

Alongside the gorgeous hot rods, the show will have lots of food, drink, and music. During the show, judges will be looking to give out awards for Best of Hot Rod, Kustom, Girl Owner, Low Rider, Chopper, and many more. A Pedal Car contest will also take place, awards for Best Custom, Best Stroller, and Best Original will go out.
This year’s event will also feature the giveaway of a custom built hot rod for the Lost Angels Children’s Project. Aaron Valencia, Grace Resource Center in Lancaster, California and Union Rescue Mission of DTLA Skid Row have come together to build a car specifically to be raffled off and all proceeds to be donated to Grace Resource Center and Union Rescue Mission. The goal is to help support homeless children.
