The National Street Rod Association holds the 42nd annual Western Street Rod Nationals for the 32nd time at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California. The premier gathering, one of the largest automotive events in the area attracting over 2,000 muscle cars, rods, and customs, is set to kick off on April 27 and runs through the April 29.
The event is open to both foreign and domestic vehicles from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Enthusiasts of Ford, GM and Mopar will all have plenty to see and enjoy.
The event features manufacturer displays along with those for automotive specialty and aftermarket suppliers. A “Women’s World” area with arts and crafts and a kid’s area with games and other amusements will be available to guests.
Enthusiasts seeking rare parts will certainly appreciate the large parts swap meet on site.
Other attractions include live music and a wide variety of different foods and beverages throughout the weekend, a Thursday night gathering at Chuy’s Mesquite Broiler featuring DJ Lugnut, and a Friday night nineteen mile “Super Cruise” to the Kern County Raceway park, where participants can do a lap on the brand new NASCAR track.
