Scouring the classifieds, we stumbled across an American classic that needs some help. Posted on eBay, check out this bucket that is a 1956 Hudson Hornet Special, which has been sitting parked for the last 23 years.
Beaten by the sun and the adverse weather conditions in Clear Brook, Virginia, this Hudson needs a new home. What experienced a short production span, the Hudson Hornet was a bubbly and bulky car designed to compete against its American counterparts during its time.
What hasn’t been started or powered up for years, it is more than likely that this car is going to need some work to bring it back to life. Most of the major components are still intact and quite a brush has grown around this car.
It also looks like the car has been repainted as there is some signs of overspray within the door jambs. With plenty of potential, this Hudson can make for a great project car with a passionate vision.
What could possibly have some rust from being in the element for so long, some fabrication and elbow grease are going to be needed for this commitment. Each passenger side door has rotted away and a new set of tires will be required to get this thing rolling.
It may not be as iconic as the first generation Hudson Hornet, but 1956 marked the year when the car received more distinctive and prominent design cues, which include V-line styling that can be seen clearly on the front fascia.
What would be your first order of business with this rusted relic? Let us know in the comments below what you would do or if you’d simply pass it up.
