People form an emotional attachment to cars, and that’s not a bad thing. A car is, after all, more than the sum of its parts. It is a vessel to adventure, freedom in physical form. But what about all those parts that make it up? Do you get emotional when changing the oil, or fixing an alternator? How about when you get new tires?
The Aussies over at Harrop Engineering don’t strike us as the emotional types, but when it came time to replace the worn rubber on their Holden Commodore VE, they decided to give the tires a proper send off…but properly shredding them.
Harrop Engineering is probably best known for its Hurricane Intake system for GM LSx engines. But the muscle cars of Australia are different from the muscle cars of America; many of them have four doors, or two doors and a truck bed. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t badass automobiles, especially when you slap some go fast parts on ‘em.
The Holden Commodore VE already packs a 7.0 litre LS7 engine, and Harrop modified it with one of their Hurricane intake systems to boost power to 682 ponies and 612 ft-lbs of torque. But that’s not all; they also added a coil-over suspension, engine oil cooler, Truetrac differential, and plenty of other go-fast goodies that helped this Commodore give its tires the sendoff they deserve. We could get emotional over this video all day long.
