The car auction season ramped up last week with five separate auctions in Arizona and two trends clearly emerging. First, this is big business and second, investors are flocking to collector cars because their returns in the financial market continue at minuscule levels.

Now, two fairly well-known names in the business have announced a cooperation agreement designed to raise their visibility and, hopefully, market penetration. Auctions America by RM and Carlisle Events have entered into a joint marketing and corporate cooperation agreement beginning this year. The two companies, with their combined 70 years of experience in the collector car hobby, will stage co-branded events.

Carlisle Events will exclusively present the swap meet and car corral components at the annual Spring and Fall Auctions America by RM events held at the Auburn Auction Park in Auburn, IN.

Auctions America by RM, backed by the world’s largest collector car auction house, will host the two scheduled collector car auctions held annually at the Carlisle Expo Center in Carlisle, PA.

The agreement makes a lot of sense, as Carlisle Events and Auctions America by RM each developed a specialty which the other wasn’t world-class at. working together, they can enhance the collector car hobby and improve the event experience for participants.

Here’s the new schedule for the joint effort.

• Spring Carlisle Auction: April 28 – 29
• Auburn Spring: May 12 – 15 (new date)
• Auburn Fall: September 1 – 4
• Fall Carlisle Auction: September 29 – 30
