Centerforce Clutches, a manufacturer of performance clutches, has released its DYAD XDS Twin Disc Clutch for the 2016-17 Chevrolet Camaro SS and 2014-2016 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine.
The new DYAD XDS Twin Disc Clutch provides enthusiasts with a performance clutch solution for extremely modified cars including naturally aspirated builds, those with nitrous, or through forced induction by way of turbochargers and superchargers.
According to Centerforce, the DYAD XDS clutch was engineered to deliver a superior clamp load with light pedal effort and smooth engagement by utilizing Centerforce’s patented Ball Bearing Pressure Plate and twin disc design. The lightweight 168 tooth, 8 bolt, zero balance billet steel flywheel delivers increased throttle response.
The 10.4-inch pressure plate includes the company’s patented Centrifugal Weight System which helps the clutch kit hold up to 1,600 foot-pounds of torque. To be able to provide the holding capacity, the clutch discs features paddle/button style cerametallic material. Due to the positive engagement of the cerametallic material, vehicles may experience noise and/or chatter.
This new DYAD XDS Twin Disc Clutch Kit (Part #415614877) fits 2016-2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS equipped with the 6-speed and 2014-2016 Corvettes equipped with the 6.2L V8 motor. The disc is compatible with a 1-1/8-inch, 26 spline input shaft.
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch kits come pre-assembled and include the pressure plate, floating disc, floater, drive disc, flywheel, pilot bearing, alignment tool and ARP fasteners.
