After coming off a recent win with the “2013 Best New Product – Electrical & Electronic Components” award from the 15th Annual Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show, don’t expect Dakota Digital to rest on their laurels. In attendance at the Goodguys Del Mar Nationals in Del Mar, California, they were there for the full three-day weekend showing off their classic, current and latest gauges and clusters to wow the crowd.

Product Specialist Greg Karpe working the booth and informing a customer on how to find a Dakota Digital dealer on their web site.
Well known for their classic aqua blue LCD digital gauges that started it all for Dakota Digital, Product Specialist Greg Karpe said, “All of our gauges are doing great and are very well received. Even with our new VHX line, our LCD gauges are still popular with the street rod crowd.” The digital readout provides owners a quick look at the stats of their engine, while the analog output of the VHX line gives the look and feel of an analog gauge with sweeping needles, however, they still provide the same digital input as the LCD.
With direct replace instrument clusters to fit various classic cars, either design complements the custom look without taking away from the factory placement and overall appeal. For those who want to keep the lines of the instrumentation, but seek to upgrade to modern electronics for reliability and looks, you can’t beat a direct replacement unit.

Many enthusiasts are getting creative with some of the VHX clusters available by utilizing, for instance, a ’40 Ford cluster in their build. Said Karpe, “Some customers are designing their dashboard around one of our VHX clusters for a completely custom look.”
Either way you go about it, Dakota Digital is taking digital gauges to the next level with their VHX line, and hitting up all the shows they can to bring out their latest – and greatest – so you can see for yourself how great they look, and how simple they are to install in your vehicle. Be sure to check out the Dakota Digital web site, or make sure you stop by the next big car show or trade event to see what they have for your ride.
