Resurrected in 2011, the COPO (Central Office Production Order) program got new life thanks to Chevrolet. Chevy brought the nameplate back for the purpose built NHRA drag race COPO 5th-gen Camaro. None of the car sold since then have been street legal, and all of them have been sold to hand selected buyers. One example made in 2013 has showed up for sale, and it’s somehow totally untouched — we’re not entirely sure how this even happens!
Streetside Classics currently has this 2013 Chevy COPO Camaro for sale on eBay with an astonishing 0 miles on the clock. That means this car has seriously never actually been driven, not even one little mile. To further prove this, the plastic still remains on the steering wheel, never have being touched by a driver’s hands. Adding to the mysteriously intriguing car is the fact that it was one of only 20 Certified Race Chassis (CRC) cars and comes with the optional, massive 427 cubic inch engine.
Like with all COPO Chevy Camaros, there are very few options, because honestly, who would even need them flying down the track? Since racers have no use for a radio, a/c, or rear seats, these cars were given them before going up for sale. The car has minimal sound deadening, and runs on open headers, so if you hate your neighbors (and yourself), this car could be a blast to pull up the driveway to check the mail in.
It’s very rare that the general public ever gets a chance to own on the highly coveted COPO Camaros, even though they can’t ever be registered legally. COPO Camaros don’t even have assigned VIN numbers, so you’d better have a trailer and a drag strip nearby if you ever want to drive it!
As the ad states:
“These sold out before the first one was even built. You will likely never find another one, so this is your one and only chance to grab one. Go racing or put it in your permanent collection, but either way, this COPO is a remarkable machine.”
