Sometimes we come across a car on eBay that becomes one of our “if I can only win the lottery” dream cars. Sometimes it’s because it’s favorite car, and other times it’s because the car is so badass that we would just want it if money were no object.
Some people buy million dollar cars that only a few can have, while others want lots of unique cars that nobody else has. It’s a win-win, because nobody will call you a spoiled brat, or “shake their damn head” at how much money you wasted.
Such is the case with this 1968 Plymouth Barracuda we came across recently. We’ve shown you some other cool Mopars before, like Bob Gough’s Barracuda S, but this thing’s got a HEMI!
If you know the A-body Mopars, you know that they do have a rather tiny engine compartment, and the good old Elephant motor, which celebrates 50 years this year, is just that: an elephant of a motor!
This Barracuda was done right, for a wicked car that can put some strain on your neck. The seller claims to have over $80,000 invested, and it has failed to sell four times already, with the $50,000 “Buy it Now” price begging for a click.
Looking over the specs, the car has a great list of performance goodies: 520 cubes of blown HEMI power with aluminum heads, roller rockers and cam, Dana 60 rearend, rack and pinion steering and an AlterKtion coilover front suspension. He said there are zero miles on the fresh restoration/build. Now who wouldn’t want to buy this car and make some noise with it? Seems like a bargain, or you can build one yourself if you can find a nice donor car. Which would you rather do? You’ve got a short time left, but we imagine if it doesn’t sell it will be listed again…and again.
