If you’re in the Rancho Palos Verdes, California area this Sunday, you won’t want to miss the 19th annual 2011 Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance. Taking place at the Trump National Golf Club, the show will offer plenty of unique classic cars. In addition to the Howard Darrin designed vehicles and art from Guy Buffet, Edelbrock will be displaying a few of their cars and signing autographs. Thanks to Edelblog for bringing us the news.
Fitting right in with the amazing cars at Palos Verdes will be some of Edelbrock’s very own- Vic Sr.’s dry lakes ‘32 roadster, the company’s ‘69 Super Bee and the ‘66 Ford Shelby Mustang race car owned by Christi Edelbrock will be making an appearance. Vic and Christi will also be at the trailer signing posters and hats for fans.
In addition to their amazing cars and autographs for fans, Edelbrock will be featuring a Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge demonstration. As we reported earlier this year, the Engine Challenge pins teams of automotive career-bound high school students against each other as they disassemble and reassemble a Chevrolet 350 engine as fast as they can.
The competition is for scholarship money to go toward an automotive school. Students from Loara High School in Anaheim, California will be doing the demonstration three times throughout the day on Sunday, practicing for the Engine Challenge Finals they will be attending this November as part of the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
So if you’re in the mood for seeing some amazing cars, meeting great people and watching some very talented students tear down engines, make sure to stop by the Edelbrock trailer at the Palos Verdes Concours d’Elegance on Sunday. We look forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories from the event.
