In the world of drag racing, we get to see a lot of fancy cars with paint jobs that cost more than our daily driver and so much billet that it makes us drool. Horsepower bulges from every hood, fender, and grille with superchargers, twin turbos, and blow-off valves, and we can only dream about competing with cars like that.
Then someone comes along with an ordinary-looking vehicle and makes people shut up and take notice. They don’t have the fancy paint job, the high dollar wheels, or contingency stickers all over the vehicle. In all honesty, the vehicle in question doesn’t even look like it runs very well because the spots of rust, the missing fog light, the mismatched panel alignment, and missing body moldings just tell us this vehicle is falling apart, if it’s doing anything at all.
But there’s a saying: Looks can be deceiving, and Farmtruck has become the poster child for that expression. While the truck, featured in the television series Street Outlaws, may sport a recent engine build with 632 cubic inches of big-block Chevy power, it has run another component for many years that most people don’t know about … until now.
Energy Suspension has been run in Farmtruck for many years, because when you’re putting it all on the line with big power and traction is a concern you need to make sure that your suspension bushings can take the punishment and are not going to fall apart. Energy Suspension is well-known for their polyurethane bushings and components for suspensions systems and engine/transmission mounts. Polyurethane provides firm yet pliable bushings and mounts to keep things in place without losing its composure, and have been the choice for car owners and drivers in all varieties of motorsports.
To bring things full circle for Farmtruck and AZN, best known as the driver and co-pilot of this orange and white 1970 Chevy long-bed pickup truck, they will be at the Energy Suspension booth (#23567) at SEMA this year so everyone can get a picture and an autograph. The truck will be on display, and will also be a part of the SEMA Ignited Cruise, the Official SEMA Show after-party on Friday.
Farmtruck and AZN will be signing Team Energy/FNA posters in the booth from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on November 4 and November 5; and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, November 6. So be sure to stop by the Energy Suspension booth and get your autographed poster and a selfie with Farmtruck. Check out the Energy Suspension website for suspension and mounts for your own vehicle and get it firmed up like Farmtruck.
