Beginning to circle the interweb is a rumor that is angering Fast & Furious fans everywhere. While it may have been someone’s funny idea to start the rumor, we have found articles that debunked it just as quickly. According to Wafflesatnoon.com, this silly little rumor is completely out of context with how it got started.
What rumor is it that has so many gearheads furious? The rumor is that none other than the Bieb himself, Justin Bieber, was to replace Paul Walker in the latest Fast and Furious sequel. Can it be so? Waffles at Noon says no, and we agree with them. So how do these rumors get started, anyway?
It seems that this past May, Ludacris gave an interview and was discussing the possibility of Justin Bieber wanting a spot in the movie – not the lead role. Ludacris had stated that it was “[Bieber’s] time”, and that “he’s old enough to drive, so he’s good” for a possible spot. However, this interview was prior to the unfortunate accident that took Walker’s life, and there was at that time no reason to bring Bieber into the fold, let alone as a replacement.
It’s true, the franchise has been going strong and some big names have joined the cast. But to bring in someone like Bieber, whom most gearheads think of as a poster they want to rip down from the walls of their teenage daughter’s room, it’s hard to imagine he would ever fit into the cast. Remember Tokyo Drift, anyone?
So, regardless of what rumors start popping up now, take a deep breath and relax. That interview in May 2013 is probably about as far as Bieber’s name should have been taken. It’s too soon to start talking about cast enhancements, and a little too disrespectful to Mr. Walker and his character to think anyone could replace him. At the very least, he cannot be replaced by a teenie bopper, it would simply be wrong. What are your thoughts on this?
