Forgeline Motorsports will debut its newest one-piece monoblock design wheel at the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show taking place October 31 through November 3 in Las Vegas. The DR1 is truly directional, which means that it has separate left and right versions so they look the same on each side of the car.
Forgeline’s monoblock wheels are created from a single 6061-T6 aluminum forging. This aerospace-grade forging is milled to create a wheel that is exceptionally strong and stiff, yet lightweight. The directional I-beam spokes extend all the way into the center cap so that the DR1 has the look of a centerlock wheel. Available in 18-, 19-, 20- and 21-inch diameters, in any finish Forgeline offers, the DR1 wheel is an out-of-the-box design for the company.
“This is a really unique wheel design for us. We wanted to create a wheel that is both modern and exotic in appearance. The DR1 offers the high-quality and strength our customers expect from us with a really singular design,” said David Schardt, president, Forgeline Motorsports.
The DR1 wheel is designed for use on modern sports cars, coupes and sedans such as McLaren, Mercedes, BMW, Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari, to name a few.
