Sure, the new Dodge Challenger may not be the most iconic name from the original muscle cars. Nor is it the fastest, or even the best-handling of the new generation of muscle cars. But it is undeniable that Chrysler nailed the retro looks of this 21st century muscle car, Besides, all that extra heft the Challenger carries around is all the extra cool it exudes.
CarBuzz compiled a list of their top four favorite “customized Challengers, and we liked the list so much so that we had to share it with you because who doesn’t love the new Challenger?
The CarBuzz list begins with the bright-green Challenger SRT8 from CCG Automotive, a German tuning outfit. Ze Germans stroked the 6.1 liter HEMI V8 out to a full 7.0 liters, boosting horsepower to 600 ponies and 470 ft-lbs of torque. When it comes to big power, ze Germans don’t mess around.
The next two entries come straight out of Chrysler’s own Mopar catalog in the form of the Rallye Redline Edition Challenger and Drag Pak Challenger. The Rallye Redline Edition features an intimidating black paintjob with red stripes and more performance-oriented suspension.
Meanwhile the Challenger Drag Pak comes out of the gate swinging as a straight-up factory drag racer. Capable of 9-second quarter-mile runs right out of the box, the Challenger Drag Pak is in many ways the ultimate tuner car. Oh, and lest we forget, it is powered by a Viper V10 engine. So yeah.
But we’re not quite done. L.A.-based Advanced Automotive Concepts rounds out the CarBuzz list with an eye-grabbing black-and-blue Challenger. More looks than speed, it is definitely a looker. So out of this whole list, which Challenger best speaks to you?
